Ipod video battery

I replaced my battery on my 5th gen ipod black and all its says is

"please wait battery low with the spinning wheel.

Its been "charging" for the last 48 hours and nothing. still no power up.

can anyone help me?

your ipod could not be recognizing your new battery which is a big problem and unfortunately i don't know how to fix it
