Windows Virus

Stupid Windows got a virus again. "report Error" message popping up as I write this. PC cillin failed to fix infected file. Only quarritine. Broadband not that significant speed boast on PC, is on Mac (probably cause of virus.

How do I stop this virus? Probably reinstall.

Sounds like the Blaster Worm. Only way to really get rid of it is a reinstallation of windows. Hope this helps (if u havent got it fixed yet)

Yes I do. I also have a PC. I think its gone now. Maybe it will strike me again silently. Does anyone know how to get rid of it. Or do I have to re-install?

I was angry that day. VERY angry :p

No need to reinstall...

Check www.symantec.com they have removal tools for lots of viruses, and they definitely have a Blaster removal tool.
After the removal finished, it'll tell you to download a certain patch at MS, install that patch, and you're done... ;)

There might be several tools for several revisions, just start with the most recent one.

Is it unsafe to book flights using credit card or is a worm just virus? It only shut down once and what I can see from the Worm it supposively is supposed to happen numerous. Maybe i'm safe now. I don't like playin g with settings, thats all Avalon :(

I've got a worm before, and it SUCKS. Had to completely reinstall Windows. However, that was before I got a Mac. :):):)
