so i was on the way to work this morning in a rather heavy rainstorm, no big deal i thought. i pulled up to the red light and heard this loud bang kind of noise. and after looking around and thinking nothing of it i heard a few more and saw every driver's worst nightmare. almost ping pong ball sized hail, bombarding my car. the roof, hood, trunk and quarter panels are all damaged.

this was no ordinary hail storm, mind you, it kept up for like 10 minutes, and after like 10 seconds in the hail covered the street.

thank god i have the best insurance company ever.

there was a night full of like hurricaine force rain almost and thunder right next to my apartment but when i left for work it was pretty calm. the hail just kind of came out of nowhere.

and i guess i would rather have been in my car then been a pedestrian exposed to the hail

Man, I hate hail. We had about 10k worth of damage to our house and cars when there was golf ball sized hail in 2004 (if I remember correctly).

Both cars needed new hoods, mine needed a new windshield, and of course what seemed like hundreds of small dents pulled-out.

I've never seen such severe weather as I have since moving to Texas.

Yeah, the one bubba is talking about, don't remember right now, in 2003 or 2004, had to replace the hood, trunk and top of my wife's car along with repairing the quarter panels and doors all the way down one side. Was around $6k in damage.
