This is as simple as it sounds.

Mail works before update, doesn't work after update (10.5.2).

The exact problem is that it has a problem connecting to the server, to download my new mail. It says that it has "timed out".

It does however send mail ok.

Anyone else had this issue, or know how to resolve it?

First run Repair Permissions. If no improvement delete your Mail account in Mail Preferences and set up a new account. All old mail will be lost doing this however.

Thanks.

The repair permissions didnt work, but I didnt think that would anyway.

The other option however has proved successful.

Just as a note, the options I went through this time were slightly different than last time, so it seems apple have def' updated mail.

What if the mail program just does not load at all? What is repair permissions?
And is deleting preferences the same as moving the com.apple.pilst file to the desktop? I have done that and still nothing.

Go to Disk Utility and select your Panther disc and hit the Repair Permissions button.
