Firefox tabs question

Hello,
When i open firefox it displays my home page google, but when i click on new tab it just shows a blank page and then i have to click home to get google. I have searched and searched but cannot finf where to change this setting.

Anyone help?

Try this extension:

You can also middle-click the Home icon (if you're using a suitably equipt mouse) and a new tab using your home page will appear.
