Deleting with option key...?

Hi, I have some items in the trash which are protected. When I try to empty the trash I get the message to hold the option key when selecting the items. I am doing this but still getting the message.

Anyone?

Restart your Mac and try deleting the files again with the Option key held down. See if that works.
