I currently have the MBP as in my sig.
I use the MBP for when I travel now.
I'm thinking of totally scrapping my current massive desktop ( C2D E6420/EVGA mobo/ GF7900GT/ 74 GB Raptor hard drives/ 30" Dell LCD) and going totally laptop workstation.
I'd use the MBP in tandem with my Dell 30" LCD. Also I'd use some external USB drive for big storage.
I'm slimming down and going simple this year. ;D
Big questions:
Will the new MBP coming out be a substantial upgrade from my current MBP specs?
Are the newer MBP video cards better than the ATI X1600 I have now?
Or is it basically a lateral upgrade. ie: no whiz -bang -wow notice in performance from what I have now?
I would be using the MBP as a dual boot or Parallels with XP Pro .
I use Architectural Desktop so the XP Pro will be needed.
Current specs:
2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
3 GB DDR2 SDRAM
100GB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive
6x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600
