Newbie here: can't find xcode

This is probably a stupid question but here it goes.
I installed Xcode but I can't find the app icon nor the application folder (checked under applications). I know it works because I can start it up through butler. What am I missing.

It should be on your restore disk that came with your Mac. It isn't part of the default install, you have to install it yourself.

I believe Xcode installs into the Utilities folder inside Applications.

But, you have Spotlight right there on your menu bar. That'll show it to ya in a second or two.

You can download the latest stable version from Apple Developer Connection or as MHC said, from the installation disk. Once installed, it can be found in /<HD>/Developer/Applications/
