what's with the fuss about stealing mac programs through the ipod?

i've been reading about this around, but is it really possible to copy mac programs through the ipod? if you drag and drop, isnt it just copying the shortcut and not the whole program itself? dont you need like a cd installer to actually install programs, so what's all the fuss about people going to apple stores and plugging in their ipods to get the programs? i dont get it..

depends on what program you're talking about...some you can definently just drag...then again..you don't always get everything you need.
