recharging ipod question

can you hook the usb cable/ipod cable to a computer with itunes installed just to recharge the ipod (5gen.? video with click-wheel)? trying to figure out if i can do it on college computers that don't have itunes installed. tired of running out of battery power when working on stuff.

The iPod should say if it's charging or not. I presume it would work, just as the Power Adapter does.
I would try it. The worse that could happen is nothing...
I'll try it on mine in a sec and let you know...
