LCD Backlight Prolem

Hi, I have a 15 inch macbook pro bought in june 06, the led backlight just recently stopped working. I restart my computer and it flickers for a second then turns off again. I also noticed, if I let it sit for a day, the led light works for a minute or two longer, but then shuts off again.

I brought it in to have a diagnostic run on it, but it's gonna cost 55$ an hour, and frankly, I'm a poor college student, so is there any other solution? Please Help!

sorry for your misfortune can't say enough about applecare,i still believe
that the apple store will be your best bet you are probably not the only
one that had this happen they probably know the fix.
