Moving Hard Drive Icon

I have Mac OS 10.4.8 and I have the desktop set so the icons snap to a grid. How do I make the hard drive icon (which is currently in the upper right corner) permanently be in the upper left corner? I can move it to the upper left but it goes back to the right after I restart the computer.

2.53 Intel Core Duo Mac Mini; 4g RAM; 350g HD, OS 10.6.3
click on your desktop then go up to View>Show View Options. then make sure that Keep Arranged by is unchecked. then you can put your icons anywhere you want.
