What needs to be plugged in?

Well I have my wireless internet and its working fine, But it will not work in my room.
I was reading around the forum and it says it should be upstairs in the center of the house, well it isn't so i was going to move it but I m not sure what to do.
Do I just have to unplug it and move it to another plug or dose it have to have some think else plugged into e.g. a telephone line?

Got it sorted moved it about a metes now I get full signal in my room compared to none
