switched to mac

i have been using vista for about the last year and had many problems with it so i bought and ibook g4 today to try it out. i can't do anything with this thing, its a paper weight that i can check my email with. i can't open any files, i can download limewire but apparently opening it and running it is too much too ask. i sent the dozens of useless files that had been collecting on the desk top to the trash can and i guess i deleted something important because it won't open anything on the dock. i am now reinstalling os x. i would really like to get use to this thing and give up vista, but right now i don't think its going to do what i need it to do. how do i open a wma file for starters?

Could you be more specific? We'll help as best we can...

Welcome to Mac-Forums, graff500.

First thing to do is not ask your iBook to behave like a Windows machine. OS X is not Vista or XP or whatever. It works differently. If you expect your Mac to be just like a WinBox you're in for a big letdown.

I'd suggest you read this book, Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Tiger Edition.
