 I wanna buy a 24 inch iMac but I would like to know first what is the built-in iSight camera performance capturing image at a far range. For example if I have the camera in the corner of my bedroom and I would like to record something in the middle of the room. What is going o be the quality of the movie captured.

Aproximetly range 7 feet

One other thing you can do to really help out your iSight in general is to get iGlasses, a third party app that provides a sort of "preference panel" for the iSight. It lets you adjust color, contrast, light sensitivity etc. Really very nice. I find that with iGlasses installed, I can easily make video calls from a low light situation with no trouble at all. Get iGlasses at:

I've been using iGlasses ever since I got my Mac. It is indispensable!
