Hi!

Actually looking back I think I may have explained it all in the subject! ;-)

I have a 1.83GHz 15" MacBook Pro which needs its logic board replacing. I notice on eBay right now there are two such boards:

http://tinyurl.com/26roqm (1.83GHz)

and

http://tinyurl.com/2zyvbc (2GHz)

Instead of replacing my 1.83GHz board with another 1.83 could I upgrade to a 2GHz without too much trouble?

Regards,

Steve

Your Mac's Specs
MBP 2.4/2GB/200HD/256 8600gt
was the 1.83 a CD or C2D? im guessing CD, because of the 1.83 speed.

you should be all set to goto 2.0, but that would be it id imagine.

interesting question arises here, are the new C2D boards the same size as the old CD boards? if so, you may not have to stop at a CD board. Id look at a C2D, if they are the same.

Now that's a _very_ interesting question.

Currently as you correctly say my 1.83 is C2. If anyone knows whether I can safely replace my 1.83GHz C2 logic board with a 2GHz C2D unit I'd be very interested in knowing.

Thanks,

Steve
