I just picked up a second iphone today for another plan.

the home button is much harder/louder on this 2nd phone, enough so where it makes double clicking somewhat inconvient.

what do you all recommend?

I also had the apple employee tell me that after 6 months, the apple warranty only covers a partial replacement on any iphone, meaning the customer would have to pay X $ out of pocket to get work on the iphone...if this is false which i think it is, ill be talking to a manager my next trip. It was a bit of a turn-off to hear something like that.

If it is substantially different than your original one, take both in to the Apple store and demonstrate this to the Genius Bar folks. In the end, you are presently a dissatisfied customer and Apple doesn't want that. My guess is that they will replace it or repair it. Don't live with a product that makes you unhappy!
