When did the mini get digital audio?

A friend pointed out to me that the mini now has digital audio.

My question is - when did this happen?

I would like to buy a used one on Ebay or Craigslist but I need to know for sure what versions have the digital option and which don't.



I'm stoked because this will be my first Mac computer and it will also replace my aging HTPC.

All Intel minis have digital audio. The G4 mini does not.
Good luck. I love using my Mac as a HTPC. The mini will work well.

It still doesn't support 5.1 surround, you'll need an external sound card for that.
