Time Machine ERROR

OK, so i have been using time machine for a while, but earlier today i got an error.

'Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume.'

I have partitioned my external hdd, giving time machine 265 GB. There is 66GB of free space available. The other partition on that drive seems to work fine.

How do i get it to backup properly. I keep getting an error whenever a backup is scheduled.

Anyone got any suggestions?? I have a feeling i might have to delete that partition and backup everything again, But i don't want to try that just yet.

I got this error once. What I did was unmount the drive, turn it off, wait a second, and then turn it back on. Then Time Machine works as usual.
