I have a single Mac user in our Windows domain environment who needs to connect to our Windows file server. The file server originally had a share set up however we've since migrated our file server to a clustered environement (both nodes Windows 2003) and creating a share requires the creation of a cluster resources for each one - which we'd like to keep to a minimum.

Is there any way to allow access for this Mac user to the Windows active directory folder *without* creating a share on the network folder?

Thanks in advance.

Someone just mentioned this great feature I never knew about - Preferences > Applications >Utilities > Directory Access.

It has a check box available for Active Directory so give it a try. Also I connect via Go>Connect to server <IP number for server/name>. If it will not connect change the SMB to AFP at the beginning.

Windows 2003 Server is not terribly Mac friendly.
