Canon iP 3500 printer - prints half page?

Got this Canon printer when I bought a new camera. Have it connected to airport express, have installed drivers (currently using a gutenprint driver, but have tried the CUPS driver from the website as well). When I go to print, the page starts printing, and stiops about halfway. If I leave it for a while (ast timed it to be 4 minutes) the remainder of the page will print. So, I know the printer is recognized, but can't figure out why it prints half pages. Anbody?

Ultimately, we want to use this printer to print wirelessly from 2 macbooks, both running Leopard.
