Best Torrent app/client for OS X 10.5

I tried Azureus 3.0 but since they added Vuze and stuff to the client i find it eats about 100mbs of my Ram while running. I want a simple client that will download torrents an run quietly in the background.

Also is it safe to download P2P clients for the Mac? I hear all the stuff about Macs being immune to all viruses. Anyways i was looking at limewire or something similar. or should i just keep using my PC as a Virus Buffer.
