Eep.

Recently, my ibook g4 has started making the "waking from sleep" noise(I don't know what it's actually called ;p Sounds like it's the hard drive bouncing into action or something?) at unexpected times, like when I move it, etc.

Is my hard drive on the way out? It's only done it a few times and has never had any other issues, but I'm a bit concerned

*pats ivor*
Any ideas?

Doesn't sound good...

There's a little background app called SmartReporter which might give you some peace of mind:
SmartReporter is an application that can warn you of some hard disk drive failures before they actually happen! It does so by periodically polling the S.M.A.R.T. status of your hard disk drive.

You can get it here.

And it's free!
