New comp!! and Logitech Speakers 5.1

hey everybody

I just got my new 2.8GHz 24" imac
2 gigs mem
320 gig hardrive

lol i didnt go for the 500 because it was cheaper to buy a 500 gig
external hardrive instead ;D

i was wondering if this beast is compadible with logitech x-530 5.1 speakers

Plug them into the headphone port and see for yourself. They should be fine.

i highly doubt that there will be a compatibility issue with the speakers, seeing as there are no drivers required.

There wont be compatability issues, but there may be connectivity issues. Do the speakers use a single headphones style plug, or multiple plugs? The iMac, as far as I know, only has one plug for speakers

!! UPDATE !!

The speakers have three different colour input plugs (green, black, orange) and the imac only has one audio input. Is their a connector/something i can get to connect all three???? (in order to get all five speakers and bass workings) thanks again

I guess you need to read the help provided to you. There is only a headphone jack on the iMacs so you need to return the speakers I figure. If you buy anything that everybody recommended, a single plug set of speakers, you will be rewarded. Check out the Apple store for lots of choices.

Logitech do a single plug version that works fine for me - model R10 - bought a year ago. Great sound.
