Hey everybody just curious if anyone knows of a way to hook up an HDTV with a PC input to an iMac.

I'm getting my new HDTV tommorrow and was wondering if its possible to do this since the tv I got only has a pc input for use as a monitor and obviously the iMac does not.

Thanks in advance.

The iMac has a DVI output. All you need is a conversion cable. You can get DVI to component, HDMI, analog (PC input) and whatnot.

goobimama is right... I use the mini-DVI to VGA output to hook up my MacBook to my HDTV and it works perfect.

DVI doesn't transport sound. So it doesn't matter when type of connector you convert it to.. it never had sound to start with. You need an optical cable from your mac to the optical in on the tv or headphone cable.
