3 month old iMac- mouse not scrolling

20" Imac 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Was working fine. In the middle of scrolling down on my homepage the mouse just stopped scrolling. Is there something I might have done accidentally, or is there a problem with the mouse?

The scroll ball picks up a lot of dirt. Press down hard and move it in all directions - should free it up.
