well, w/ the announcement of the new macbook air, comes the new external superdrive, and having the base macbook, i was wondering if i were to purchase the external if i would be able to hook it up to my mb. i asked the apple techs and they told me that it's only for the macbook air. i was wondering if you guys think they'll be some sort of hack to it at somepoint?

It must be something software related, which means it's probably hackable. However, there's probably not a lot of demand for such a hack, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
