BURN not recongnising my external DVD Burner

I am running Burn (freeware app) on my Mac mini and have an external DVD burner. The problem I have is when I select burn from the Burn software it only selects my CD burner on the Mac Mini. I can then go into the pull down and select the external Pioneer DVD drive but it doesn’t stick. It goes back to the CD burner on the Mac mini.

Any suggestions????

You may have found a limitation with the software. I don't use it so I can not say for sure.
