Hello everyone,

I am completely new to Mac (this is my second day with my new iMac 2.8 :)) and I need to create a folder which is completely unreachable for users different from me. The best thing would be the folder being invisible, but it could be sufficient if the folder ask for a password to see its contents. Is it possible to do with my Mac?

Thank you very much in advance.

I am not sure about making a folder invisible, however you can create a password protected image.

1. Open disk utility
2. Create New Image
3. Setup the image the way you want it
4. Look closely at near the bottom of the window where it asks for an encryption method.

Pretty simple and worthwhile method of password protecting sensitive items.

Also, if you put it in your folder (has your username as the folder and the subdirectories of that folder), other users can't access that folder without your password AFAIK.
