DVD drive noise

So just recently I noticed when I play DVDs that an unusual noise is emanating from the drive. I listened to a sample noise of what it should sound like, but this sound is different, the best way to describe the sound is like a mini helicopter rotor. I tried multiple DVDs and I got the same result. Is there any fix for this issue other than sending it in for a repair? Thank you.
