Hi

Quite new to macs.

At work I take my MBP with me and I connect to our windows server using the connect to in the Go menu of the finder,

I have to add smb://CADTERASTAT/CAD

This works but is there a way of doing this automatically.

Also performance on the network is a little slow, is this down to using smb to connect?

Is there any way of improving performance? for example previewing images using cover flow over the network can be slow.

Thanks

If you click on the plus button in the Connect to Server window, your 'Book will add the server to the Favorite Server list. Once the server shows up on your desktop make an alias of it in your dock for easy reconnect. If it was a desktop you could go to System Preferences --> Accounts and add it to your Login Items. It will automagically connect but don't do that with a laptop, it will try to connect even when you are not in your office....

Thanks for that mate.

You are quite right I don't want it to connect when I'm not in the office.

Thanks again.
