I have a new MacBook networked through a d-link router to a Windows XP PC.
Networking and file transferring works fine wirelessly over Airport.
Now I want to transfer larger files quickly over the network and I want a faster more stable connection so I want to use wired ethernet through the same router, between the same computers to the same folderon my XP PC. Nothing except for the connection method is changed, and yet when I turn off Airport, and hook up ethernet, the connection fails in the Shared section of Finder.Other than that my wired ethernet connection works great allowing me to go on the net using any web browser.
Any ideas what the problem might be?
