Uh, just a quick query about my battery. My macbook is plugged into the mains and usually always is, I rarely use it from battery. Well, so far it's only had 3 cycles. So, I am just wondering why then the percentage of battery i have is only 96% and yesterday it was 97%. It says the power source is power adaptor so surely it should be 100%?

From about 90%-99% on the battery, even if it is plugged in, it will run off the battery. Once it is below the 90% mark, it will run off the wall, and charge the battery back up, until full, then rinse and repeat.

This is normal - the percentage is not very accurate between 95-100%.

If you unplug, run it on battery then recharge it should go back to 100%.

I had my MB for 3 days and was about to take it back, as I thought the battery was screwed, and then realised it was just a recognition problem.

Like riscy stated, once the percentage drops below 95. The system will start the charging process.

^ thx for the confirmation rman.

It almost freaked me out when I got my MB (as a virgin Mac owner) and suddenly the battery power was going down after 2 days, then I realised it was a battery recognition prob.

I had a thinkpad that did the same thing. Then I unplugged it and waited until it reached ~90% and then plugged it back in. That is when it hit 100%.

I've had 273 cycles, my Mac battery is really poor, gets to about 75% in 20 minutes. I remember the days it used to be 3x that almost :(

iStat Pro is a great widget guys :)
