hey i tried to sync my ipod with my itunes and i got error (-54)

what is this?

i just recently re formatted it to mac so yeah-help

That is a permissions error, Itunes thinks a file is being used by another app or process or is locked

Try fixing any permissions, figure out what file(s) are causing the error and check that they are not locked or have bad permissions

Are you running any other apps that are scanning that folder, like anti virus software

no so is it basically that another app is using that file full stop or just at that moment?

how do u fix permissions?

finder -> applications -> disk utility ->click on "macintosh HD" (or whatever your osx disk is named) -> click on repair disk permissions.
