Apple say's the Imac uses ddf2 memory. Is ddr2 the same?
Going to upgade the memory on the new Imac bit don't want to get the wrong one.
Thanks in advance.

BTW: a search for ddf2 here showed nothing so there must be a reason :))

Maybe that is how apple scares people into paying their outragious prices?

Can show me where it says DDF2 memory.

Apple uses Standard DDR2 SoDimm RAM in the Intel iMac. The G5 iMac used standard DDR2 RAM.

Apple is not making you use their ram.

Go to the memory order page and tell me what it says.
I see 2Gb 667Mhz DDF2 (PC2-5300)

Is my screen wrong ?

Was just wondering why it says that there?

I was not slaming Apple. It seems as if you may have taken it that way. I know I can use other RAM.

The way you worded it with "Maybe that is how apple scares people into paying their outragious prices?" made it sound like you believed that was the reason. Checking now. If it says DDf2 it's a misprint. Report it to Apple.

Edit: Am at the Apple Store and the Memory section for the new iMacs. Can't find DDF2.

I do agree Apples RAM prices are very high. That most people agree on.

Sorry for any misunderstanding but the wording seemed that way.

Looking back it did look that way. Was not intended to be. Sometime words paint the wrong picture.

Thanks for the reply.

There is no such thing as a dumb question.
That's all I really wanted to say.
OWC or newegg.com are my two favorite places to shop for Mac parts and accessories. eBay as well. The only items I will purchase from Apple is the hardware itself.
If you're still a little confused if a specific SO-DIMM fits your machine, post a link and we'll let you know.
