I want to create some small audio clips from some music I have in iTunes.
How is this accomplished, and what is the best way?

For free? Garageband will do it for you.

Small amount of cash = Audacity audio editor. Bit more = Logic Express, Peak. Logic Pro, Spark (think they might have defuncted) Digital Performer, ProTools, Cubase. etc etc..

audacity is free...and pretty awesome, i use it to make ringtones if that's what ur saying by small audio clips...
