help...I run Os X on a mac mini. I bought an Iomega minimax back up and, for a while ran a trial version of Backup. This has expired. I need to arrange automatic back up but Iomega no longer support tis product, suggesting I spend $129 on their replacement software-the hardrive cost about this in the first place. Any ideas where i can get a reliable auto-back up program eitehr as freeware or for cheaper?

I use the LaCie backup software even though I don't own a LaCie drive.

It's free at LaCie.com

The best backup utility is SuperDuper! but it isn't compatible yet with Leopard. If you're still on Tiger though you can't go wrong using it.

AS MHC says SuperDuper. It is easy to use, quite simple to set up and shows the download speed during backup.

Their website states Leopard version in about another week, that was from 3 January.

The free download option is more than adequate.
