PhotoShop 8.0 quitting

My 2GHz Dual Powermac running OSX 10.4.1.1 will not open PhotoShop CS3 since the end of 2007... keeps saying 'PhotoShop has unexpectably quit.

I have re-installed including dumping prefs without any improvement. ImageReady works just fine...

Any thoughts?
