• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi all,
I Have 2 questions:

1- Where is the default directory of iMovie 08. In other words where iMovie saves the projects in my local HD.

2- Is there a way of changing the default location of the saved projets in iMovie. In other words how do i tell iMovie to save my projets in my external Firewire or USB 2.0 HD in lieu of my local HD.

Thanks to all in advance.

Your Mac's Specs
2011 MBP, i7, 16GB RAM, MBP 2.16Ghz Core Duo, 2GB ram, Dual 867Mhz MDD, 1.75GB ram, ATI 9800 Pro vid
iMovie menu --> Help --> iMovie Help --> external folder
then click one the one result that appears.

Create a folder on the external drive, at the top level only, named "iMovie Events". Then from within iMovie, you can drag events from the internal drive to the external drive and the files will be moved.

There are three special folders for iMovie 08 that reside in your personal Movies folder. The names are "iMovie Projects", "iMovie Events" and "iMovie Sharing".

As far as I know the "iMovie Projects" and "iMovie Sharing" folder can not be moved. Perhaps a Unix link would work.

The formats isn't anything I've looked into before. So no.
