Hello All,

I am trying to figure out how to set up my Mac's default e-mail application to not be the Mac Mail application, but rather G-Mail. I have looked high and low, but no luck.

Any hints out there?

Set up G Mail with account, user and password details etc. Wipe your Mail accounts using the little (-) in Mail preferences, if you or have been using Mac Mail.

Is GMail a web based or software? I only know GMail as being web-based. You can't make a Web Based a default mail app. Now you can, however, put your GMail into Mail App via POP3 as described about by harryb2448

Harry,

I did what you recommended. That only gets me to the point of Mail asking me to set up a new account. "saxnbass" makes a good point inasmuch as G-Mail is web-based. I think I may be at an impasse.

Thank you both for advice.
