legally copied dvd wont play

hi, i have a legally copied dvd on my mac. i copied it using mac the ripper. it is a video ts file...when i went to play it it prompted me to choose an application to play the video...not sure which application to choose...or do i download something?

vlc is a great app.
but i know a lot of people (myself included) prefer the apple dvd app. and if you open that (from your apps folder) and than file open (or cmd+o) and find your video_ts folder, it should work just fine.

That's odd. I just play my ripped DVDs using DVD Player included in OS X. I just open DVD Player, go to "open DVD media, then select the Video.TS folder of the movie, and hit play.
