I got the video adapter for christmas. And my first question is, why is it only video? What do I do about audio? What resolution should I set it at to get a good picture? I tried it and I didnt have the audio hooked up but the picture of the TV was smashed in and there was stuff on my desktop that was moved around when I unplugged it.

Resolution depends on the resolution of your TV. If you mirror the displays, then one of the two or both will look weird. Uncheck the "mirror" option and set each display to its native resolution.

Audio, you connect via your headphone jack and wherever on the TV you need to connect audio. You will need to buy a separate cable as video and audio are separate.

I was playing around with both modes so that is very possible.

I believe their is a stereo to composite cable that is available that I will have to buy for the audio.
