optical mouse problems

Your Mac's Specs
Norwood is a Mid-2010 15 inch MacBook Pro with 10.11.1.
My mouse has been acting really weird lately and I'm not sure what to do about it. When I am on my Mac, the mouse will randomly go into right-click mode and doesn't leave it until it deems necessary. On many occasions, I immediately repair permissions and it magically fixes the problem. However, earlier this evening it went into right click mode and stayed there for a few hours! I repaired permissions and nothing happened. :confused:

What should I do?

By the way, the mouse in question is a Kensington Optical Elite Five button optical mouse, and the model number is 72121.
