MacBook Pro & iPod Shuffle question

Hello Mac fans!!

I just bought my first ever Mac computer and it's just incredible. Hopefully for me, my brother made the switch to Mac a few months ago and he has been very helpful.

However, I am having a weird issue with my iPod Shuffle and OS X (10.5). I have 3 iPods (Shuffle 2nd gen, Nano, and Touch), and the problem only occurs with the Shuffle. So here's the issue:
when I plug the Shuffle in, iTunes does nothing (not recognized nor synching songs to the shuffle). I tried my brother's Shuffle and same issue. I also tried a different "dock" and same issue. I tried my Shuffle on my brother's Mac and it worked.

Could someone please tell me what would be wrong with my shuffle??

what version of itunes? maybe try a computer at the apple store?

sounds like a bad shuffle???



does it work on a pc by chance?

I tried my Shuffle on my brother's MacBook and it worked. As mentioned in my post, my brother's Shuffle doesn't work on my Macbook as well...it seems any Shuffle won't be recognized by my computer.

I have the latest iTunes version as well
