How do I make an animated .gif file?

Google animated gif and you'll find a program to d/l (never did it on a mac, only pc) like gif animator or something. Then you drop all your pictures into the program and it does it for you...

I remember creating .GIFS in Adobe ImageReady a few years back.. Came out quite well actually.

Imageready is a good tool to use. You can even input video clips and set the fps rate for some quite kool effects. be careful not to go over the top tho. over animated gif files can be big in file size and you wont be able to use it as a signature... which i presume you are wanting to do
