I just did 3 software updates but after I restarted my computer, OS X won't load up anymore! I don't remember which 3 updates they were but I do remember that it included Security Update 2007-009 1.1 (10.4.11 Universal).

What should I do?

Startup from X.4 install DVD that came with the machine, go to Utilities and select Disk Utility. Run Verify Disk if the HDD appears on the left hand side. If that shows all okay try Repair Permissions.

If you are not getting the drive showing up in Disk Utility, looks like a job for DiskWarrior.
