Hi,

I have a copy of 64 bit vista to load on my mac. The apple website says it's "important" to use only 32 bit versions on macs.

Please could someone tell me why, and, is it really important that you use 32 bit versions as opposed to 64 bit versions?

I guess, i just want to know if it will work ok.

Many thanks

Steve.

I believe it's because Apple has only provided 32-bit drivers for use in Boot Camp. So while you may be able to get the 64-bit version installed, it'll be pretty useless when most of your hardware won't work.

I doubt it would even install, and could cause irreparable damage. I wouldn't even attempt it.

In my opinion, the worst case scenario would be vista some how corrupting your hdd and forcing you to reinstall os x
