160GB should work,
my friend have a 1.83 macbook. and he upgraded the HD to 160gb.
he is very happy with it!

You can use virtually any SATA 2.5" laptop/notebook hard drive - yes, this one will absolutely work. It does not specifically need to be labeled as "Mac compatible". I would recommend Seagate, however as they have the longest warranty (5 years). I have not had positive experience with Toshiba, Samsung or Hitachi drives. I would strongly recommend Seagate or Western Digital.

Funny you should ask, I just changed mine a few days ago and got a Western Digital Sata 2.5" HD - just went into a shop and took it off the shelf - I did pay for it.

No probs at all, installed Leopard, used boot camp and now have XP (spit) as well.
