Good CSS Book/Resource

Hey guys & girls,

I am looking to brush up on my CSS skills and am looking for a good book/resource site that I can learn form.

I am pretty comfortable with HTML and basic CSS (text styles etc). But when I come to try setting up a site using CSS positioning I can't seem to get my head round all the settings and things.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful!

divs and external CSS are the way to go!
I usually use w3cschools.com for quick reference or any css problems I run into.

CSS The Missing Manual is a very helpful book.

When I was looking into this I came across the app RapidWeaver

OK, I never used the app to create web pages, but the tutorial that came with Rapid Weaver for CSS really helped me get the basics

From there stuff from w3cschools.com made more sense after I had played with the tutorial

Honestly get this book, do NOT pass it down, it is absolutely amazing, and is written by andy budd and a few other experts in the field.

I'm a fan of all of www.tizag.com's tutorials.

www.htmldog.com is really quite good for both html and css

Two Questions

Hi

1. Can anyone suggest an alternative to Crimson Editor, which is recommended by Tizag.com, but Windows only?
2. Has anyone purchased the complete CSS Guide tutorials, and are they worth it?

Try Firefox with Web Developer add on

Consider trying Firefox with the Web Developer add on. It will let you view and edit the CSS for any page. Obviously, you can't save the CSS back to the site but it's a great tool to see how others do things and allows you to experiment with their code to instantly see cause and effect.
