I tried a search but couldn't come up with the results I was looking for, so here goes:

What setting do I need to change so when I'm in Finder and I've got a file highlighted and I press the Enter/Return or Enter (next to left arrow) Key and the file EXECUTES. I could give a hoot about renaming a file that I made and saved. Who in their right mind made "Rename" the default action for these keys?

i'm not on my macbook right now, but i think it's enter + down arrow or enter + up arrow (more likely down) to open/execute.

It is CMD+DownArrow to execute.

BTW, thanks for the tip. I did not realize that you could rename a file via highlighting it and pressing Enter. I *like* this approach. Very easy.

Yeah.. If you're planning on using the Cmd key, you might as well use Cmd + 'O' to open it since that is the default Open command.
